School Councils School councils are collective associations of parents, teachers, principals, staff, students and community representatives who work together to promote the well-being and effectiveness of the entire school community to enhance student learning. School Council Registration School councils are required to submit a School Council Registration form by September 30 each year. Annual Reporting As mandated by Alberta Education in the School Act, school council chairs must prepare and provide an annual report to the Edmonton Public School Board by September 30 of each year.
